Fortress Mobile was the awarded vendor for the installation of Phase 1 for 90 buses by Craven County. As a result of this all-in-one solution, managers can detect and resolve any reported item or component failures. The health status also allows the District Manager to view the vehicle’s last reported use time.

Craven County School District (CCSD) provides transportation for students in Craven County Public Schools. The CCSD consists of 8,500 students at 25 schools with a fleet of 155 buses and 205 drivers, traveling more than a million miles annually. They use Fortress Mobile to track, monitor, and improve driver safety and optimize the efficiency of their maintenance process.

CCSD needed to upgrade their old cameras on 90 of their 155 buses as a Phase 1 project. They were looking for a solution to give them live visibility to their fleet to increase the safety, accountability, and dependability of their fleet, that fit into their budgetary measures unlike their old system.

Fortress Mobile equipped the 90 CCSD vehicles with its 8-Channel DVRs. They used HD cameras for live surveillance inside the vehicle, as well as a Stop-Arm Camera. This setup for CCSD also included Fortress SureBus™ software capabilities that feature an event marker installed in the driver area, allowing the vehicle operator to mark a file, allowing the expedited retrieval and review process. The software was also accessible via the SureBus™ Mobile App. With the Auto-Download feature, they could instantly retrieve, download, and review needed videos. Additionally, the Stop-Arm cameras captured vehicles and their license plates that violated the Stop-Arm, which could then be reported to the proper authorities to send a notice of violation. The system also records the GPS coordinates providing the synchronized vehicle location, speed, and direction of travel digitally displayed under a map in the playback section of SureBus™.
