BACKGROUND

Southern Regional School District is a New Jersey public school system located in Manahawkin. The school district serves 200+ teachers and 3,000+ students from seventh through twelfth grade

INITIAL CHALLENGES

Southern Regional Schools had previously been using a different camera system for the school buses but found it to be unreliable and outdated. The previous system also did not have any GPS tracking capabilities.

There was a need for a dependable system setup that also fit into current budgetary measures.

Southern Regional has 80 buses that are equipped with Fortress Mobile 8 Channel DVRs. These are compatible with both Analog and IP cameras used in the buses. Fortress HD Analog cameras are used for surveillance and live video inside the cabin of the school buses. This setup for Southern Regional also includes Fortress SureBus™ software capabilities. Managers are able to view live streaming video and live GPS right from any smartphone or computer. Additionally, with the Wi-Fi Auto Download feature, instantly retrieve and download any video needed over Wi-Fi.

SOLUTION RESULTS

As a result of this all-in-one solution, managers are able to handle driver complaints and on-board incidents in real time.

Less student behavior occurrences have been reported, and when there is, they are able to be corrected and addressed immediately due to live video streaming.
